all Wednesdays of Lent, 6:30pm until 8:00pm, St. Mary Parish, and all
parishes and chapels in the Archdiocese of Boston will be open for
individual confessions. Inviting Catholics to experience Christ’s healing
love through the Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the major initiatives
of Cardinal Sean and the Archdiocese this year. The Archdiocese has set up a
website, www.thelightisonforyou.org
to help you prepare (there is a link at the St. Mary website). It has videos
on the Sacrament of reconciliation, sheets on how to make a good confession,
answers to frequently-asked questions and more. Please make plans to come on
Lenten Wednesdays and spread the word of this special outreach of mercy to
those you know. St.
Mary Parish will also offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation each Friday
during Lent, following the Stations of the Cross at 7:00pm. Eucharistic
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, following the 9:00am Mass, and
Reconciliation, at 11:00am, are always offered on Saturdays.
From the Pastor... Dear
friends in Christ, I
am looking for some help in forming two committees; one for “Buildings
& Grounds”, and the other for Information Technology
& Communications. The
Buildings & Grounds Committee would meet quarterly to
discuss and review issues regarding parish facilities maintenance and
development; with a particular eye toward the study of developing a parish
center. If you have experience; General Contractor (GC), Site Contractor,
Mechanical Contractor, Electrical Contractor, Plumbing Contractor,
Excavation, Architect, Engineer, Realtor, Landscaping, or other related
fields, please consider volunteering to help your parish.
The
Information Technology & Communications Committee would
meet to quarterly to discuss and review issues regarding parish computer
systems, programs, web site analysis, contracts, as they relate to
supporting the parish mission of information & evangelization. If you
have experience in IT, web development, programming, software, computer
system analysis, mass media & communications, or other related fields,
please consider volunteering to help your parish. To
discuss these very important parish needs, please contact me at 978-256-2374
x 13 or sdonohoe@saint-mary.org.
Thank
you, Father

for Priests Spiritual Adoption During this Year for Priests, The Vocation Office is happy to announce that Serra Boston Vocation Club is initiating the "Adopt-a-Priest Apostolate" where parishioners spiritually adopt a priest of the Archdiocese of Boston for one year. Parishioners are given the name of a priest of the Archdiocese, prayer cards and a prayer booklet and asked to pray for the particular intentions and ministry of that priest. If you are interested in more information or being assigned a priest of the Archdiocese to pray for on a daily basis, please call 978-462-1057 or go to www.serraboston.org or http://www.vocationsboston.org/Resources.aspx.
